I have a friend who lives in Hobart, Indiana, and long story short, she loaned a friend $1000 so they could attend a trip together, and her now ex-friend refuses to pay her money back, and she lives in NZ. My friend who lives in Indiana went to a lawyer, and she was told that technically she could file a claim but it wouldn't go any farther than that since her ex-friend is not under State jurisdiction. About a year ago, my friend and her ex friend went to London, and my friend (let's call her Amy) gave her ex friend (lets call her Lisa) $1000 to go to this trip, and Lisa said she'd pay her back, but never did. Lisa said she would, but Amy never got anything back, and Amy has prove that she said she would pay her back, she has e-mails and what not.
